Welcome

Welcome to Genealogyland. For over three decades, I have conducted a search for my ancestors. Where many people take one line of research back as far as they can, I have chosen a wider approach to the search. Many of my family lines come from the same geographic areas and throughout the generations, they have intermarried. So what is often described as a heredity and family tree, has become a tangle of family vines.

Some time ago.......

I asked an artist cousin to create this picture.

"Why an outhouse?", she asked.

Because that's what this research

sometimes reminds me of....

An outhouse covered with vines.

That kind of thinking may be too deep for some of you to understand. But for those of us who have been Genealogists for a long time, it makes a lot of sense. Nothing you have been told about our ancestors holds up to deep scrutiny. I have found changes in ethnicity, religion, morality and locality. Those family stories rarely hold water and in some cases, investigating specific persons often brings surprises. Stories untold, adventures not rendered; the Genealologists finds them all.

I have put together a site based on my participation in Genealogy which has always been a mixture of hobby and business. I hope you enjoy your visit here and if you have any questions please contact me.
