| George Carlin | Born May 12, 1937. Died June 22, 2008. Comedian - Genious - Activist Editor: George Carlin was a hero for me. He taught me at a very early age that it was ok to question, criticize and abhor the establishment for their incompetence and stupidity. From his earliest albums to his most recent comments on the Bush atrocities, I remained a fan of his work. Several years ago, I ran a web site called "The Cemetery Shop". I received an email from George, telling me that he was a fan of that site and it's Dark Humor. I don't think I could have received a nicer compliment from anyone. George also gave me permission to use pieces of his work on that site. It is my opinion that the world is a sadder place today because George has died. He leaves decades of comedy legacy behind for future generations to appreciate and enjoy. For that I say, thank you George and thanks for the "A" I received in 7th grade, doing a parody of your "11 O'Clock News" routine from your AM & FM Album. For those of you who are Genuine Carlin fans, all I can say is "Shoot"! |
